Sue began her creative journey later in life, as her career in health and social care did not leave much time for artistic pursuits.

In recent years, Sue studied fine art and developed an interest in conceptual art, which focuses on using art to communicate ideas or narratives.

This interest led her to textiles, where she used her newly found creativity to raise awareness and advocate for the de-stigmatisation of mental ill health.
After several years working with textiles, Sue started exploring glass art, primarily fusing glass and lamp work, which involves using a flame to shape glass.
Unlike textiles, glass as a medium does not readily support storytelling, but Sue found it offers different creative possibilities.
Sue creates various colourful pieces, including land and seascapes, coasters, dishes, plates, and ornaments.
Recently, Sue has been hosting workshops, so others can experience the art of fused glass. Sue encourages participants to design pictures and patterns in glass. She then fires them, transforming them into objects that can stand or be displayed.
Sue is developing more workshops and will be offering participants more options for items to create. She has found supporting others in developing their own creativity to be a rewarding experience.
