Five years ago, a few colleagues and Julia began meeting every couple of weeks to explore various crafts, such as silver clay jewellery, macrame, and needle felting. After a hectic days work, Julia found it refreshing to relax, chat, and learn skills with her friends.

Since then, crafting has become Julia's go-to stress relief as it helps her unwind and decompress from the day, she is able to focus on something unrelated to the "everyday" that she finds rewarding. Her love for needle felting started when she made Christmas tree decorations. This was so her beloved cats wouldn't destroy them, although, at the time her kitten had fun batting them around!

Julia finds the needle felting process both captivating and forgiving. It allows for adjustments along the way, "It's incredible how each piece is unique, often varying significantly even when following the same pattern because it enables individuals to put their own stamp on what they are making".

Julia loves sharing this wonderful craft with others, whether through workshops or creating pieces that resonate with them. Julia is fantastic at creating a whole manner of things with nothing more than a needle and wool, including seascapes, landscapes, broches, animal characters, 3 dimensional art and so much more.

You can find Julia at many local craft markets and of course at the studio where she also runs workshops.
